An unexpectedly expedited shipment of hobbying supplies arrived on Tuesday, allowing me to reach a small but significant milestone: putting the finishing touches on my first Ork models of 2021.
This past week brought some good, some bad, and some ugly for Da Ironbullz. Let's cover the ugly and bad first.
February has brought some expected and unexpected delays for my Orks. Nevertheless, in true Orky fashion, I am stubbornly pushing ahead!
Although my hobbying pace has slowed over the last two weeks, I've continued to make progress towards having 750 points of Orks ready to hit the tabletop in May.
Week 3 of our 2021 Hobbying Sprint ended last night. While I made good progress and nearly hit my goals this week, it also forced me to make some practical adjustments.
Over the last week I’ve been reading articles on the current 9th edition meta and Ork tactics, which has led me to slightly tweak my Ork army list for our upcoming round-robin tournament in May.
I'm pleased (and frankly a little surprised) that I'm still on track to complete my gruelling 2021 Q1-Q2 Hobbying Sprint after two full weeks. In fact, I finished my second week's goal a day early!
One week into our 2021 Hobbying Sprint, I'm still on track to have 750 points of Orks converted & painted for a mini-tournament in May.

One iconic element of the most memorable 40k armies is a lovingly converted command squad. There's something about an elite retinue of hardened specialists accopanying an army's commander that catches your eye, ignites your imagination, and provides endless opportunities for narratives and conversions... so I obviously had to make just such a unit for Da Ironbullz!
